Painting Tips Every Amateur Should Know

1. Tint Your Primer - Using primer is key to obtaining professional looking results. Tint your primer to help your topcoat hide the prepped surface, and make coverage easier when painting over a darker color.
2. Invest in Canvas - Spend a little extra on canvas drop clothes instead of using plastic. Canvas is rip and puncture resistant, absorbs spills and does not get slippery when wet. Plus, it can be re-used time and time again.
3. Record Your Color - Keep track of the brand name, color, and sheen of paint you use in case you need to touch-up or repaint the room.
