Our nursery buyer, Barb, does her best keeping us in stock of beautiful indoor plants. Varieties differ depending on the time of year, shipment schedule, and product availability. A good majority of the time you can find Monstera, Succulents, Cacti, Spider Plants, Pothos, and Ficus.
What are the benefits of Indoor Plants?
Instantly add life to any sterile or plain space with a plant. Indoor plants can help boost mood or make you feel calm, which is important especially in a time when so many people are spending more time at home than ever. Whether you have the winter blues, are stuck in quarantine, or have to work or study from home… you should seriously consider adding an indoor plant to your space.
Plants remove carbon dioxide from the air during photosynthesis, which can help us feel less fatigued and can contribute to our overall well-being. Feel less stressed knowing that some houseplants can even remove indoor air pollutants commonly released such as ammonia, benzene, or formaldehyde. Rest easy knowing you’re breathing in healthy, clean air because plants are natural air purifiers!
Larger Plants
Large plants can instantly change the atmosphere of a room by adding warmth to the space. They can also be strategically placed to add movement, texture, or draw your eye as a focal piece. Help break up a plain wall or big space with larger potted plants in decorative ceramic pots or baskets.
Quick tips, make sure to allow for ample space with any larger houseplant. You’ll want to ensure the plant is potted in a large enough container to allow for healthy root system growth and for proper drainage. Follow your plant’s instructions when it comes to watering needs. Most larger houseplants need watered about once a week, or when the soil feels dry. We suggest using Miracle Gro Potting Mix, to help protect against under and over-watering. As with most plants, be sure to consider your plant’s sunlight needs and location when adding it to your home.
Some of our favorite larger indoor plants include Ficus, Palms, and Monstera.
Medium Plants
Choosing a plant that is smaller offers more choices for location. For example, you can place them on your coffee table or end table without overtaking the entire space, or having to worry about seeing through the plant while visiting with company. Small to medium sized plants act as great accent pieces to any space, ideal for book shelves, in a home office or learning space.
Another beautiful option for medium sized plants in hanging them from the ceiling. Make sure to securely fasten your hook, ensure the hardware, and rope can withstand the plant and pot’s weight load before hanging. This look has become popular because they don’t take up a lot of table or counter space, while still adding warmth. Adding a hanging plant to your bathroom, bedroom, or above your kitchen sink has never been easier. You can see hanging plants often in Bohemian designs where they incorporate different textures like macrame ropes, doilies, or other mandala style, colorful textiles.
Some of our favorite medium sized plants include Draceneas, Pothos, and Ferns.
Succulents, Sedums & Cacti
If you’re looking for a low maintenance plant, this might be right up your alley! Succulents, Sedums, and Cacti are overall fairly easy to take care of because they need minimal watering. These types of plants require a container or pot with excellent drainage to help avoid root rot. We suggest selecting a soil that is specifically formulated to dry out quicker with fast-draining formula, thus helping prevent over-watering. Miracle Gro Cactus, Palm, & Citrus Potting Mix is a good choice. Adding pebbles to the bottom of your pot will add even more drainage.
A few benefits to succulents, sedums, and cacti are they come in so many different shapes, colors, and sizes. This allows you to pick the perfect plant that will fit your style, match your color scheme, or add the right amount of pizzazz to your space. These plants are so versatile, they can be used individually or in arrangements, even grouped together in a wreath or centerpiece for the holidays. They fit well on desks, book shelves, and small areas.

Due to space limitations, we physically cannot house as large of a selection of indoor plants in our Moscow location. What we have will be located on the right-side of the sliding entrance door on a round table. Our retail space is larger in our Pullman location, meaning more plants! We have a full indoor nursery, which you can find just past our Lawn & Garden department or through our Outdoor Garden Center.
