Welcome to Katie’s Kitchen!
When Katie set out to design her kitchen, she knew she wanted a space with a lot of room, off-white cabinets, and a farmhouse feel. When all was said and done, Katie’s kitchen design was just what had hoped for… a warm, cozy, and inviting space. She enjoys sitting at her island and getting to utilize her over-sized, farmhouse style sink.
Katie’s kitchen was designed, purchased, and installed by Moscow & Pullman Building Supply. She describes working with Nathan & Chelsea in the Moscow Design Center as fun and easy. “They were invested in helping make my dream kitchen become a reality,” Garrett said.
When asked if she had any advice for someone designing a kitchen, she suggested to take samples home to visualize them in the space. Colors can interact differently depending on the location and lighting, so it’s always a good idea to bring it home first to see if you like it. She also said at times she was overwhelmed with decisions and options, especially on what type of cabinets to put in and what style of drawers, so take one thing at a time and put yourself in the space to see what works best for you.

You might be wondering, who is Katie?
Well, she is a Moscow native who grew up in and around the building supply. She is the oldest daughter of Pat & Gerri Garrett and sister to Tyler Garrett, who most of you know as the Owner/President of Moscow & Pullman Building Supply. After graduating from Moscow High School, she packed up and moved to California where she attended San Jose State. Four years later, she graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Accounting and got a job at PWC (Price Waterhouse Cooper) accounting firm in San Jose. As much as Katie loved the sun, she also loved her family and began to miss Idaho. After two years at PWC, she decided to move back to Moscow.
In 2018, Katie began her career at the family business, as CFO at Moscow & Pullman Building Supply. She comes to work with a smile on her face knowing she gets to work with friends and family. “I enjoy the people I get to work with,” said Garrett. She also decided she needed a place to live, so she set out to build her first home! The kitchen featured in this blog is where she currently resides.
FUN FACT: In her free time she enjoys spending time outdoors with activities like camping, hiking, and fishing.
